Saturday Word of the Day: Melee

*Melee: confusion; turmoil; jumble. (It can also mean a confused hand-to-hand fight or struggle amongst several people)

“What’s up with you?”

“It’s the melee of finals.”

“What?”

“You know the melee of finals, deciding whether to go to university or not. If so then which university and what to study, if not then what will you do. The turmoil of prepping for exams and deciding when to study, how to study, if not to study at all.”

“Oh, I thought melee meant some kind of combat?”

“Well it can mean a confused hand-to-hand fight or struggle amongst several people, which I suppose is how most people know the term from popular culture but its primary meaning is confusion.”

“Cool.”
