Saturday Word of the Day: Natter

*Natter: to talk incessantly

Suzie had a tendency to natter, it was part of her charm… or so her friends and family insisted. Personally she wasn’t sure it was a charming quality, she would always find herself finishing a conversation and realising she hadn’t let the other person speak very much.

This was concerning to Suzie, after all half the fun in nattering is a creating a rapport with your conversational partner. It occurred to her that she could show restraint when talking with other, but as much as she tried she always found herself droning on (though more cheerful than droning, nattering after all is a very energised form of speech). Yes Suzie just couldn’t help it, she nattered.
