Saturday Word of the Day: Forthwith

*Forthwith: immediately; at once; without delay.

“We need backup, somebody help!” Vera yelled into her radio as she tried to run whilst assisting her injured teammate, Noah.

“Can anyone hear me? Please respond, we have hostiles closing in on us and Noah is severely injured. Please, anyone, come in.”

“I hear you Vera, the cavalry will be their forthwith. Over and out.” The response comes through clearly on the radio, though Vera isn’t sure if she should be relieved or more afraid as she didn’t recognise the voice that came through.
