A/N: I don’t even know where I was going with this prompt, I had an idea and then it just got sidetracked. Don’t forget to check out Tim’s work.
Prompt: Vat of acid
Word Limit: 200 words
“Double, double, toil and trouble” Oscar remarks as he passes over the acid vats, the walkway is firm and stable underfoot but that doesn’t stop him from briefly worrying it’ll give way plunging him to certain death. On the other side of the walkway there is an office, once in the office Oscar relaxes a little.
“Couldn’t have built the office near the factory floor or in the front, had to build it just past the vats.” He mumbles under his breath as he shrugs out of his safety coat, “Couldn’t have taken that gig in the toy factory, no wanted to work in the big fancy chemical plant.”
Oscar slumps into the office chair and kicks his feet onto the desk, just ever so slightly able to make out the acid vats through the window. There is something unnerving about those vats, always bubbling away as if something is wrong with the chemical composition. As much as it disturbs him though, he isn’t going to let such a slight thing derail him from his goals to work up the corporate ladder- this office is just the start; the acid vats just a disturbing stepping stone on the path to success.
